Training

Introductory Training

An introduction to the application of comprehensive DBT to complex, high-risk eating disorder presentations. This training examines the core treatment functions of DBT and the modes through which they are delivered, exploring how comprehensive DBT is applied and operationalised within MED-DBT for complex eating disorder presentations. The focus is on treatment structure, clinical decision-making and implementation.

Applied Workshops

A practical guide to designing and delivering DBT-informed skills groups within eating disorder services, drawing primarily on MED-DBT alongside established DBT-based group models.

A practical workshop focused on prioritisation and use of the DBT hierarchy in complex eating disorder cases, supporting clinicians to make clear and defensible treatment decisions within high-risk presentations.

Advanced Training

A focused workshop on the transition from Stage I to Stage II work, including establishing Stage II treatment goals, addressing shame and identity, and preparing for trauma processing within the MED-DBT framework.

An advanced masterclass exploring trauma treatment within MED-DBT, attachment considerations, chronic suicidality beyond stabilisation, neurodivergence-informed practice, and complex multi-system presentations. Includes case formulation and consultation components.

Bespoke Training

I also work collaboratively with services to design tailored DBT training based on their specific clinical population, service structure and stage of implementation.

Many teams are unsure what they need — whether the priority is strengthening skills delivery, refining targeting, improving consultation team processes, or integrating DBT within existing treatment models. I support services to clarify these needs and develop structured, fidelity-consistent training that is practical, relevant and sustainable.

This may include:

  • Service-specific workshops
  • Implementation planning
  • Targeted skills or targeting training
  • Ongoing supervision or case consultation

Every service is different, and DBT implementation rarely looks the same across settings.
