Consultation

Clinical & Service Consultation

I provide consultation to services seeking to strengthen the implementation and delivery of comprehensive DBT within complex clinical settings. Consultation is collaborative and focused on maintaining fidelity while addressing structural, clinical and service-level challenges.
My work supports services to deliver comprehensive DBT in a principled and sustainable way, particularly when working with high-risk or multi-diagnostic populations.

  • Programme design and implementation planning
  • MED-DBT integration within existing services
  • Consultation team development and structure
  • Service-level troubleshooting and refinement
  • Implementation review and adherence strengthening
  • Clinical pathway design for complex presentations

Schools & Community Implementation

A growing area of my work involves supporting schools, community organisations and caregivers to embed structured DBT-informed approaches within non-clinical settings.
This includes consultation and implementation support for DBT STEPS-A (Skills Training for Emotional Problem Solving for Adolescents) within educational environments, drawing on direct experience of programme delivery and evaluation within New Zealand schools.
My approach maintains alignment with comprehensive DBT principles while ensuring developmentally appropriate and sustainable implementation across systems.
Work may include:

  • DBT STEPS-A implementation and consultation
  • Professional development for teachers and school staff
  • DBT-informed skills workshops for parents and caregivers
  • Cross-sector training on emotion regulation and complex presentations
